We are a non-affiliated, faith-based public charity dedicated to providing for families struggling with food insecurity. Our mission is to provide essential food services to the Quad Cities community, with a focus on families with school-aged children. Through initiatives like our annual Be the Light Christmas Meal Drive and Light of Hope Backpack Program, we bring hope, nourishment and the love of Christ to those who need it most.
How it all Began
It started as just a dream. . .
In October 2020, Will and Skip Strickland opened Strickly Southern Catering with the desire to use it as a way to serve the community through faith. Just a few months later, that desire turned into action. What began as a simple dream turned into a plan to donate a few smoked turkeys which quickly grew into something much greater. With the help of local churches, schools, businesses, customers, family, and friends this small dream exploded into a reality of providing hope.

In 2024, the Matthew 25:35 Foundation was established to expand this mission, build new partnerships, and reach even more families in need. Our hope is not only to continue growing the Be the Light Christmas Meal Drive and Light of Hope Backpack Program, but also to extend this support to more families throughout the year.
